Third Thursdays Participation Overview

Third Thursdays is a monthly, district-wide activation designed to bring consistent energy, visibility, and foot traffic to the Grand River & Warren corridor.

Held every third Thursday from 6–8 p.m., the program brings together businesses, artists, organizers, and independent projects through simple, low-lift activations that encourage people to explore the district.

This is not a large-scale event series or a requirement to produce complex programming. The goal is consistency, not scale.

Who Can Participate

Third Thursdays is open to:

  • Businesses and storefronts in the district

  • Artists, designers, musicians, writers, and curators

  • Independent organizers and small creative projects

  • Community members with ideas they want to share publicly

Projects can take place inside participating businesses, in studios, or through temporary activations coordinated within the district.

What Counts as an Activation?

Activations can take many forms, including:

  • Special menu items or extended hours

  • Small exhibitions or installations

  • Music, listening sessions, or performances

  • Talks, readings, or informal gatherings

  • Retail promotions or product highlights

Participants are encouraged to create an experience visitors would not typically encounter during regular business hours.

The emphasis is on lightweight, thoughtful participation rather than large-scale production.
